Confession: I don’t actually love shopping. *GASP.* I know.
I mean. Well. Wait. That’s sort of a lie. I like new sweaters and heels and makeup just as much as the next girl (friends, if any of you are reading this while buying me any of the above, KEEP BUYING THEM). I just tend to get a little overwhelmed by all the stuff out there. A day of putting on and taking off clothes can really take a toll on a person.
So, when it comes to clothing, accessories, and the like, I prefer to shop once a season and get it all over with in one big haul. It’s more exciting that way. Like a big shopping holiday.
But that doesn’t mean I’m not constantly on the hunt for the cutest new products, nor does it mean I’m super stingy when it does come time for my seasonal shopping rampage. Quite the opposite, actually. I’ve come to believe that my whole approach actually makes me an even savvier shopper. I sleep on every decision I’d otherwise make on impulse. I have less regrets. I’m able to hunt out the items I want, stalk them for a bit, and wait until they’re on sale before indulging.
See? It’s kind of the best.
That’s why I’m very happy to be taking my professional window shopper habits over to the hallowed hypothetical halls of Country Living. I’ll be producing several gift guides a week for the magazine’s website beginning this week, which means all these years of opening a thousand different product links in new tabs and then closing them has been WORTH IT.
So! Without further ado, below is the first one—a list of some of the cutest birthday gifts out there right now for your girlfriends (IMHO, of course). It—along with the rest of the guides!—will be live over on Country Living, but I’ll continue to publish the ideas and links here on my blog, too. Whether or not you’ve got a friend’s birthday coming up, I hope you’ll enjoy digitally window-shopping these guys as much as I did.
