Ohhhhhh, guys. Where to begin with this one?! I didn’t think I could love a table more than the ol’ RH 5781 setup, honestly. But then this table happened. And, well…game over.
It’s my new all-time favorite!!!!!! And I cannot WAIT to walk you through it.
And I’m gonna do that. Walk you through it.
I’m gonna do that very soon.
On MY NEW HGTV SHOW! 🎉
*passes out*
Okay. I have REVIVED myself. Just in time to share the big news with ya:
The show is called “How to Holiday” and the first four parts will premiere on HGTV.com next week! I’ll share more about the process of hosting and filming it in the coming days (it was a very interesting, socially distanced situation).
But now back to the table. While I’m not going to walk you through every piece of this beauty right here (as I said, my top tips will be shared on HGTV.com soon!), I will give you a quick preview and run through all of the shoppable items on the table.

The Color Scheme & Runner
Tie-dye! It is one of 2020’s biggest trends, after all…so I thought it would be super fun to bring it right onto my Hanukkah table. I used the $7 tie-dye kit linked above (SO easy to use, even for a tie-dye novice like me) and a $15 linen runner (also linked above!) to make it happen. More on that process over here. The napkins, meanwhile, are store-bought from a fabulous small business (again, see above).
The Dinnerware
I can’t get over how essential those gold chargers turned out to be! I grabbed them from Michael’s and was gobsmacked (GOBSMACKED!) by the price: about $6 for a set of six. They’re shiny and sort of remind me of the foil wrappers of chocolate gelt. Magic. I added my everyday white plates from World Market and my everyday silverware, and it all came together beautifully. For the napkins, I just rolled each one loosely from the longer end toward the pointed end, then tied each with a large, asymmetrical knot and placed at one edge of each plate. As you probably know because I talk about it, oh, every hour on the hour, I do love a good asymmetrical anything.
The Place Cards & Small Details
You can get the full tutorial for those cute stamped place cards right here. All I’ll say is, investing in a miniature stamping kit has really come in handy for me, peeps. I love how playful and quirky-looking they turned out. CUTE. Next up: the books! This was a last-minute idea because I just felt like something was missing. Height was missing. So I grabbed a few blue-spined books I already had in my home (and some beige-spined books!) and plopped them together beneath the centerpiece. Easy and free and very much on-theme.
Oh, and those blue candles. I’m in LOVE. I feel like I get a zillion questions per day specifically about the candles and candleholders here, so once again for the people in the back, here’s where I got those:
- White Taper Candles (16.99, amazon.com)
- Blue Taper Candles (bought locally, similar at Amazon and Serena & Lily)
- Trio of Gold Candlesticks ($23.99, amazon.com)
- Low Antique Brass Candlesticks ($20 for one, terrain.com)
Last, I added some simple crystal bowls filled with candies in complementary colors here and there, plus a small gold plate filled with gelt.
The Flowers
The full floral centerpiece DIY is right over here. It’s easy, inexpensive, and so darn pretty. In my humble opinion.
And that’s all I have to offer over here, folks. The rest of the table will be featured very soon over on HGTV! I cannot wait for you to see it—and to watch the whole series. I hope it makes you happy, proud, and excited for the season ahead. Don’t forget to throw the videos a like/comment if you see enjoy them—that’s always helpful (and nice)!
