My handwriting is, generously speaking, creative. So over the years I’ve become very good at finding place card ideas that don’t require a calligraphy degree. And these beaded place cards are still one of my favorites! I originally made them for a Rosh Hashanah table, but they’d work just as well for Thanksgiving, a dinner party, or really any gathering where you want a thoughtful little detail. I like wrapping them around a water/wine glass with ribbon, but you could attach them to napkins, favor bags, or anything else that could use a name.
All you need are oversized kilt pins, letter beads with large enough holes to slide onto the pins, and a bit of ribbon. String on the letters (last letter first!), pin everything together, and you’re done. Easy, and best of all—no handwriting required.
