Hi & welcome!
I’m Rebekah, and this is where I share Jewish holiday ideas, recipes, handmade details, and the occasional personal detour. I launched my site in 2019 after spending years working at places like Martha Stewart Living, Good Housekeeping, and other sparkling magazine environments where people debated ribbon widths and shades of ivory with perfectly straight faces. I wanted to bring that same earnest excess and visual care to the Jewish tradition I love, to draw out and illuminate the beauty I already saw in Jewish life. Over the years, that little idea grew into a website, newsletter, Instagram, and now a book (more on that here!) all rooted in the belief that creativity helps us celebrate life more fully.
That philosophy started early for me: I grew up in a household where tradition ran deep and creativity was everywhere. My dad spoke Yiddish and Shabbat dinners were nonnegotiable; my mom, a Broadway actress and painter, filled the house with music, art, and endless handmade beauty. That mix of depth and delight still guides me. (And I suppose I inherited an inability to leave well enough alone.)
I’m proud to have been featured by Food Network Magazine, PBS, Bon Appétit, Woman’s Day, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Hulu, and more, and in 2022, The Jewish Week named me one of their “36 to Watch,” honoring innovators shaping the future of Jewish life. I’m also a classically trained singer, and I still occasionally disappear into a musical for a few months.
I live in Connecticut with my husband and two sons—my most joyful collaborators. By day, I’m an editor (now at Forbes); by nights and most weekends, I’m dreaming up my next project/party. Or recovering from one.
So happy you’re here.
xo Rebekah
