It’s really amazing what you can do with a glue gun. I guess this particular DIY isn’t the most out-of-the-box example of that. But, you know. In general. Every time I whip it out—which is freakishly often—I’m like, “Man, this thing was a great investment.” And it was only $3! (Actually, $3.99 now at Michael’s—this is the exact one I have. It’s mini, which is helpful for apartment living, but I do have to change the glue sticks more often. Larger options here.)
Anyway, I digress (as usual). Today, let’s talk about gift wrap! I partnered with Crate and Barrel to show off their fabulous new Champagne Glitter Gift Wrap—it’s coated in the prettiest beige-gold glitter and I swear it makes every gift look far more exciting than it really is. (This is great news for me and bad news for Andre. Socks and gift cards for everybody.) It also happens to be certified sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council, which meant a lot to me. Relatedly, I truly enjoyed reading this piece about the FSC’s legitimacy via World Wildlife Fund. Tl;dr: It’s legit.
For my gifts, I used a super tacky tape as recommended—it’s the best way to hold onto all that glitter—then finished with the Gold-Silver Satin Ribbon. Obsessed with that two-tone, double-sided color. Isn’t it pretty? Both sides end up showing when you wrap the gift, which is really nice.
Then I used my trusty hot glue gun to add a few faux florals on top (plucked straight from my olive oil tasting tablescape!). I loooove this idea and will definitely be returning to it in future years, for Hanukkah, birthdays, and beyond—it’s just as lovely as one of those giant gift bows, but much more fun, especially if you pick out florals that work with whatever color scheme you’re going for.
Finally, I invited my ADORABLE next-door neighbors over for a veryyyyy early Hanukkah treat (this whole shoot happened way back in August). If you’re gonna wrap gifts this cute, you’ve gotta find equally cute recipients.
As always, drop me a line on IG if you end up doing something like this, and if you’re new here, I also have tons of other Hanukkah content to browse through—décor, crafts, recipes, poems, and much much more!
