Scale
- 8 ounces white cheddar cheese, freshly shredded (pre-shredded cheese won’t be malleable enough)
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup chives, diced
- 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Paprika, for dusting
- Pretzel stick (for “stem”)
- Mint sprig (for “leaves”)
Instructions
- Combine the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, chives, parsley, and onion powder in a large bowl using a hand mixer.
- Use your hands to shape the mixture into an apple-like shape. press down into the top using your thumb to create an indentation. Chill for 45 minutes.
- Roll the chilled “apple” carefully in paprika until it’s fully coated.
- Chill for another hour. Add pretzel and mint sprig; serve with a cheese knife (it’ll be sturdy enough to hold its shape, but too firm to handle crackers alone).
