on the occasion of the maisel team winning 8 (!) emmys last night, and after many, many viewing parties, i give you…two fun ideas for hosting your own. here, i’m including the recipe/tutorial for the most adorable pink quote cookies, emblazoned with quotes from the show that have stuck with me, and a quick how-to for a diy egg cream bar. the recipes-slash-tutorials for both are linked below—i sincerely hope you go ahead and make them for your next maisel-inspired bash.
happy eating, and happy watching!
1. add a few maisel-approved decorations.
…THIS LOVELY, RETRO CAKE STAND
…THESE ’50S-THEMED PHOTO BOOTH PROPS
…THESE VINTAGE LP RECORD CUPCAKE TOPPERS
…THESE “TITS UP” PINS
…THIS GORGEOUS MAISEL-INSPIRED POSTER
…THESE CAT EYE GLASSES
…THIS CUT-OUT JUKEBOX DECORATION
2. put together a diy egg cream bar.
i love egg creams for two reasons: 1) they’re delicious, and 2) they contain neither eggs nor cream, which makes them an enigma of sorts. if they weren’t already a quintessential new york THING by way of, you know, geography, this fact would make them so.
which brings me to a third reason for loving them: they’re quintessentially new york! and therefore also quintessentially MAISEL-ISH.

3. bake a batch of these maisel-inspired quote cookies.
these pink cookies are now one of my most-asked-about tutorials. i first made them all the way back in june of 2019, then brought them back out for a maisel watch party this past december (just in time for season 3). they’ve got just the right ratio of chewy : crispy, and i love that the pink coloring isn’t “too much”—it’s more of a dusty rose shade, which i just think is perfect for the feminine, vintage, altogether perf vibes of this fun show.
the cookies are also VERY easy to customize, so you can go ahead and incorporate whatever your favorite maisel quotes / sayings / truisms are. maybe make a whole batch dedicated to the lines of a specific character. maybe make them in the shape of high heels. maybe give them as a birthday gift to a friend.

4. and add some classic pink-and-whites while you’re at it!
these half-moon beauties are a new york city bakery favorite (and particularly infamous over at carnegie deli, of both mrs. maisel fame and real-people-who-eat-food-in-real-life fame). they’re deliciously cakey and feather-bed-y with a thin layer of glaze that firms up to a beautiful matte. and of course i had to spiff them up here with a little pink for no reason whatsoever.

have fun, and happy viewing!
