how are you all doing? the news here in new york is, as expected, a bit bleak, and growing bleaker by the day. i can’t imagine what it’s like to be on the front lines of this epidemic, and i hope one day we’ll all be able to properly convey our collective gratitude to all of the medical professionals risking their lives for us. in the meantime, we’re carrying on with our lives as much as is possible, just like all of you—staying home, staying safe, doing our part, and trying to see every silver lining.
i also wanted to share this great samuel beckett quote that’s been running through my mind over the past week or so: “i can’t go on. i’ll go on.” lately, it feels like we’re being asked to do the impossible—to just “go on” as the world turns upside-down. but it’s working. we’re doing it. we can’t go on; we will go on—one day at a time.
anyway. let’s talk…passover! if you haven’t had a chance to see what this whole #NextYearInPerson thing is all about, you can read more here or check out the campaign on instagram here. but essentially, over the next few days and weeks, you can expect to find a plethora of virtual seder resources right here on the blog. my aim in publishing all of these posts is to prove that a “passover apart” can be more than just tolerable. it could, in fact, be just as lively, vibrant, and meaningful as the ones of years past. instead of diminishing the beauty of the holiday, these challenges we’re facing could very well accentuate it, reminding us that the most beautiful, special things are worth fighting for.
earlier in the week, i kicked things off with a few virtual seder invites, and today, i’m continuing the trend with these virtual greeting cards. if you’re not planning on hosting this year, that’s alright; the idea is that you can still spread a little cheer in this weird, weird time by sending out one of the following graphics to friends.
here’s how it works: check out all the color + text options below, then click the buttons to download to your computer. from there, you can embed the image in an email, text it to a friend, share it on social media…whatever you’d like.
sending you all prayers for health and whatever joy you’re able to find over the next 24 hours. one foot in front of the other, one day at a time…
