Quick note: Most of the Rosh Hashanah decor ideas I’m sharing with you today were *not* originally put together with the Jewish New Year in mind. But that’s okay, because they work. And they’re just the thing to scroll through before mapping out your own table décor for the coming High Holiday season. In fact, I’ve been looking forward to putting this post together all summer—both because I don’t get out very much and because there are few things I love more than flipping through beautiful inspiration images and dreaming up table designs. (ICYMI, here’s my 2019 Rosh Hashanah table, my 2020 Rosh Hashanah table, and my 2021 Rosh Hashanah table.)
But even if decorating isn’t your thing, I still think you’ll enjoy scrolling through these ideas. How could you not be instantly smitten with a set of apple votive holders? Or an apple centerpiece? Or apple place cards? (As you’ll quickly notice, there are a lot of apples going on here.)
Without further ado, let’s dive in! I’ve included some of my personal ooh-ing and ahh-ing to accompany each photo, along with links to view the full tablescapes. As always, if you end up using any of these ideas as a jumping-off point, do let me know over on Instagram! I love hearing from every one of you.
P.S. If you’re in the mood for some more inspiration, I’ve got you covered with Rosh Hashanah poems and Rosh Hashanah quotes, plus Rosh Hashanah table decorations, desserts, place cards, and so many other holiday ideas. And there’s always more on Instagram and TikTok.
A Rosh Hashanah Honey Tasting
A shot from my 2021 Rosh Hashanah table decorations! I couldn’t get this idea out of my head after I first thought of it: a honey-tasting with a honey-themed table.

A Dreamy Woodland Scene
Onto my Rosh Hashanah tablescape from 2020 / 5782! It was such a dream to put together this autumn-themed gathering. I made sure that nearly every element was budget-friendly—that runner is actually just an oversized scarf, I borrowed the candlesticks from my apartment in New York, the crystal glassware is all my parents’, and nearly everything else is DIY.

Pinks and Golds
Another one of my tablescapes from years past! Ah, those blissful, pre-pandemic times. Pomegranates, a soft pink runner, and some really special flowers made it memorable—along with a zillion other details you can find at the link below. As for that cake stand and small serving platter (the one beneath the cupcakes)…you’ve probably seem them in dozens of other posts on this site, too. I always remind myself that there’s really no need to buy decorations for every single holiday; reusing what you’ve already got is always the move.

Simple Place Settings
Not only is that apple place setting so easy to replicate, but I also adore the subtle pinks and greens in the embroidered tablecloth and napkins here. They’re not busy enough to distract from the overall table décor, but they still serve to add a little extra visual appeal and keep things interesting. There’s also a super cute, silver honey pot featured in this post that I recommend taking a peek at.

Greens and Whites
This stunning scape wasn’t actually intended to represent Rosh Hashanah—but it works so perfectly, right down to the little raised platter of apple slices there on the left-hand side of the photo. I love how the white pumpkins and apples are strewn haphazardly throughout the runner, and the organic feel of that ultra-simple centerpiece in the middle of it all.

Apple Taper Holders
I can’t stop staring at this glorious photo. Although…something tells me the apple “candlesticks” might not be quite as safe as the real thing, so I’d just urge you to be extra careful if you go this route. 😅 The cake stand loaded with apples and greenery is also such a simple, interesting touch.

Dried Wheat + Black Taper Candles
Executing an all-black tablescape isn’t easy, but here, it’s exquisitely done. The result is a regal, cool vibe—and because the dark plates and taper candles ground things so strongly, there isn’t much of a need for an overload of extra decorations (which means it’s bound to save you some money too!).

Scattered Apples and Navy Tapers
The mix of hues here is so unexpected and so pretty. By the way, AvaFlora is the florist behind these arrangements; her Instagram is so, so lovely and inspiring.

Pops of Blue
More blue! The color works so well here, contrasting sharply but confidently with all of the laidback elements. And that mango wood lantern is everything.

Minimalist Apple Tablescape
It’s hard to believe that just a few special elements can create such an inspired scene—this is really nothing more than some strewn eucalyptus branches, a few apples, and white pillar candles—but there you have it.

Crimson Candles
The crimson candles, the dark red pomegranates, the grapes, and the completely unexpected colors in the floral arrangement make this an incredibly memorable table.

Fall Leaf Centerpiece
I just want to climb inside this photo, load up my arms with all of the stuff laid out there, climb back out of my computer screen, and plop it down on my table at home. How’s that for an endorsement?

Kraft Paper Setting
I don’t know who Henry is, but I’m a little bit in love with how his name is calligraphed here. You don’t have to have perfect handwriting to pull this one off, either: a paint pen and some Kraft paper will do most of the beautifying work for you. Check out those blue and green taper candles, too—super beautiful.

Copper Details + Apple Butter Favors
The tiny jars of apple butter at each setting, the copper-toned flatware and cups and bowls, that runner…I love every element of this table.

Apple Baskets Everywhere
I absolutely cannot get over the basket motif here, particularly those dollhouse-sized ones. Just adorable.

Farmer’s Market Centerpiece
If you manage to pull off a centerpiece laden with full-size carrots and cabbages and turnips, I applaud you. This is definitely a statement-making idea.

Apple Basket Settings
I love how Amanda added those lettuce leaves here to mimic the greenery you’d find in an apple orchard.

Simple Apple Setting
It doesn’t get much easier than a single apple at each place setting—and yet there’s so much thoughtfulness in that one little detail.
