Elul is upon us! Which is wonderful. Elul is wonderful. It’s such a special season—the last month in the Jewish calendar, and the time during which we reflect on the past year and prepare for the next. (More on that over here, plus details on my 29-Day Elul Journaling Challenge here.)
Today, I thought I’d welcome this new month with a playlist of songs that match its mood pretty perfectly. Actually, I’ve been wanting to share playlists here on the blog since forever, and am so happy that I can use this moment in time as an excuse to make that happen. But even without Elul, I think we could all use some soothing, reflective music right now. This year has been so, so intense.
(Understatement of the century.)
These songs, meanwhile, are soft, peaceful, and almost sacred. They’re the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon of journaling or a morning meditation or a very slow walk through the park that was supposed to be a run but you got tired (🙋🏻). Oh! And if you watched my Jewish at Home video with Rabbi Elizabeth Bonney-Cohen, you might even recognize some of them.
But I don’t want to over-explain this. Some things are better just…experienced. So here they are—a gift from me to you. Listen and enjoy.
Love you all. Be well.
