These little brisket pies are still one of my favorite Rosh Hashanah ideas I’ve ever shared. They’re cozy, a little unexpected, and such a fun way to give leftover brisket a second life. The recipe itself comes from the wonderful Leah Koenig, who partnered with me on this post and first shared it in her newsletter. Leah is the author of several excellent Jewish cookbooks, including The Jewish Cookbook, Modern Jewish Cooking, and The Little Book of Jewish Sweets. It’s hard to go wrong with flaky pastry wrapped around brisket—I’m so grateful she shared this recipe with all of us (and the actual pies with me! yum!). I hope you’ll seek it out, make a batch, and enjoy every flaky, brisket-filled bite. Shana tova!
