Well, the world’s falling apart out there, I have officially eaten my weight in Twix bars, and I am slowly but surely morphing into this, so I figured FILL THIS IN. But really, I feel like we all need a reason to gather ’round the proverbial fireplace and warm our souls with the sweet, sweet sounds of…Hanukkah. (I originally had this very cute idea to crowdsource the playlist by asking you all to share your favorite Hanukkah songs on Instagram. The responses ranged from “I guess that NPR Hanukkah album” to “what is this ‘favorite Hanukkah song’ of which you speak?” to, again, “look up the NPR album.” So. That was unhelpful, but impressively unanimous.)
In the end, I decided to just throw caution to the wind and do my own thing! Hopefully the result makes you as happy as it makes me. It’s a collection of beautiful Hanukkah songs along with Hanukkah-adjacent songs, and songs that just, for whatever reason, feel like the holiday to me.
